Apricot Seed / Armeniacae Semen (hsing jen)  杏仁

Nature: Warm; bitter; attributive to lungs and large intestine. 

Characteristics: The kernels of the ripe fruits of the deciduous tree prunus. It is an inferior herb, slightly toxic and over dose may cause dizziness, headache and vomiting.

Therapeutic effects: Relieve coughing, wheezing, chest distention, spasms in the throat; moisturizing the intestine; relax bowels.
