Lily / Bulbus Lilii (bai he)  百合

Nature: Slightly bitter in taste, mild in nature, attribute to heart and lung.

Characteristics: The scale leaf of the bulb of Lilium. Surface whitish, sharp at the tip and broad at the base; margin thin and slightly undulate. Hard and brittle in texture. 

Therapeutic effects: Moisturize the lung and relieve cough for lung-dryness; clear away heart-fire and tranquilize the mind; for yin-deficiency with heart manifested as irritability, insomnia, dreaminess, palpitation and absent-mindedness.
