Mulberry / Fructus Mori (sang shen) 桑椹
Nature: Warm; sweet and sour; attributive to heart, liver and kidney channels.
Characteristics: A kind of collective fruit consisting of many small achenes and is dull purple when ripped.
Therapeutic effects: Nourish yin, enrich blood, moisturize dryness and calm the wind. For deficiency of yin manifested as dizziness, tinnitus, insomnia, diabetes and constipation. Also used for treating neurasthenia and hypertension of yin-deficiency type.
