Stuffed Tofu


Leukopenia, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic tracheitis.


Increase production of blood by the bone marrow, drastically increase the number of macrophages in the spleen, counteract infection and inflammation, increase yang energy and warm the body.


  • Acanthopanax root bark (wu-jia-pi) 五加皮- 30gm
  • Tofu 豆腐- 600gm
  • Shiitake mushroom - 30gm
  • Bamboo shoots 冬筍- 30gm
  • Celery 西芹- 25gm
  • Water chestnuts 馬蹄- 25gm
  • Green onion - 10gm

1.   Soak mushroom until soft and cut into small pieces. Peel and cut bamboo shoots, water chestnuts and celery into small pieces. Mix with mushroom, salt and starch to make stuffing.

2.   Put herb with 3 cups of water in a pot and cook over medium low heat to 1 cup of tea. Strain,  keep tea aside.

3.   Cut tofu into 2-inch cubes. Heat oil in a pan and fry tofu until golden brown on the outside. Leave to cool on paper towel.

4.   Make a hole on each tofu and paste in stuffing. Arrange them in a steaming plate and steam over medium high heat for 20 minutes.

5.   Remove and sprinkle in chopped green onion.

6.   Heat up two spoons of oil and pour over tofu.

7.   Reheat herbal tea, add soy sauce, sugar and wine and pour tea over tofu to serve.


Eat with meal every other day.
