Herbal Pigeon Soup


Coming out of emphysema with intermittent coughing, whizzing and lack of air, dull complexion, weak stomach and constipation.


Invigorate kidney, nourish lungs, eliminate phlegm and relieve cough, invigorate spleen and benefit vital energy, moisturize lungs.


  • Pigeon - one
  • Fritillary (chuan bei mu 川貝母 -12gm
  • White atractylodes (bai zhu) 白朮- 16gm
  • Dogwood Tree (shan zhu yu) 山茱萸 - 12gm
  • Dried lily bulb (bai he) 百合 -16gm
  • Ginger - 3 slices

1.   Wash pigeon, cut into halves and put in boiling water for a few minutes, remove and rinse.

2.   Rinse herbs and put everything in a casserole with adequate water. Cover with lid.

3.   Use the double-boil method to cook for 3 hours (or use slow heat cooker).

4.   Serve with lunch and dinner. Eat meat with soup.


Take a few times as after-sickness treatment.
