Pig Lung and Bok Choy Soup


Chronic cough and bronchitis.


Moisturize lungs and respiratory tracks, clear phlegm and stop cough, treat bronchitis and tuberculosis.

INGREDIENTS: (2 to 3 Servings)

  • Pig lung 豬肺 – one
  • Ginger – a few slices
  • Dried and or Fresh Bok Choy 白菜 – 120gm
  • Apricot kernel 南北杏仁– 20gm
  • Dried lily 百合 – 10gm
  • Fritillariae (chuan bei mu) 川貝母- 15gm
  • Citrus peel 陳皮 - one small piece

1.  If the respiratory tube is still intact with the lung, use it to fit to a tap and turn on water to force water into the lung to clean it and repeat until the lung looks pink and clean. If the tube is not present then just skip this step.

2.   Cut lung into pieces and put in boiling water to cook for a few minutes, remove and rinse.

3.   Soak dried bok-choy for an hour and rinse clean. Wash fresh bok-choy and cut into sections. Rinse herbs.

4.   Put all ingredients in a soup pot with about 12 cups of water and bring to a boil. Remove foam, reduce heat and simmer for 2 to 3 hours.

6.   Add salt to serve and eat lung, bat-choy with soup.


Take soup by a few servings. Also suitable for the whole family for prevention purposes.
