Quail and Jelly Fish Soup


Chronic cough with phlegm.


Sooth lung energy, eliminate phlegm and benefit yin energy.


  • Quail 鵪鶉 – 2
  • Lean pork hock 豬腱 - 300gm
  • Jelly fish head 海蜇頭 – 180gm
  • Fritillariae Cirrhosae (chuan bei mu) 川貝 – 15gm
  • Southern / sweet apricot kernel 南杏 – 30gm
  • Northern / bitter apricot kernel 北杏 – 15gm
  • Water chestnut 馬蹄 – 10

1.   Wash quail and cut into halves, remove neck and tail. Wash pork and cut into large pieces. Rinse jelly fish until clean and cut into large pieces.

2.   Put them all in boiling water to cook for 3 to 5 minutes. Remove and rinse.

2.   Wash, skin and cut chestnut into slices. Rinse apricot kernel.

3.   Put all ingredients in a soup pot with about 12 cups or 3 litres of water. Bring to a boil, remove foam and reduce heat to simmer for 3 hours to about 4 cups of soup (add boiling water to the cooking if necessary).

4.   Add salt to taste and serve.


Eat content with soup with no limitation.
