Steamed Lily Flower and Bulb with Chicken


Chronic dry cough with dry mouth.


Lubricate lung and promote vital fluid.


  • Fresh lily bulb 鮮百合 – 120gm
  • Dried lily flower  金針菜 – 60gm
  • Ginger 老薑片 – 3 slices (thinly shredded)
  • Pitted Red dates 紅棗– 6
  • Chicken – half

1.   Wash chicken and cut into pieces and rinse.

2.   Soak lily flower and dates for half an hour. Cut dates into slices.

3.   Wash lily bulb, separate the pastels and cut out the brown tips.

4.   Mix chicken with seasoning (salt, pepper, light soy sauce, cooking wine, sesame oil, a pinch of corn starch). Mix in other ingredients except fresh lily and put on a steaming plate.

5.   Use a steamer or wok and steam the chicken for 30 minutes, mix and turn half way through. Add fresh lily to steam for another 5 minutes and serve.

6.   Eat with meal.
