Dang-gui Pig Pancreas Soup

SYMPTOMS: 

Constipation due to lack of energy for older people or after prolongs sickness or after giving birth, hard stool, bloated stomach.

THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS: 

Invigorate energy, lubricate intestines and ease constipation.

INGREDIENTS:  

  • Pig pancreas 豬胰(豬橫利) - one
  • Angelica Sinensis (dang gui) 當歸 - 12gm
  • Biota orientalis (bai zi ren) 柏子仁 - 12gm
  • Cannabis (huo ma ren) 火麻仁 - 12gm
  • Scrophularia (xuan shen) 玄參 - 12gm
  • Black beans 黑豆 - 40gm

1.   Wash pig pancreas with salt and cut out any obvious membrane. Put pancreas in boiling water for a few minutes, remove and rinse.

2.   Rinse herbs and put all ingredients in a soup pot with adequate water (about 10 cups) and bring to a boil. Remove foam and reduce heat to simmer for 3 hours.

3.   Add salt and cut up pancreas into thin slices to serve with soup.

USAGE:

This recipe is most suitable for people with weak constitution, constipated and do not want to use laxative.
