Eucommia and Quail Soup

SYMPTOMS:  

Liver and kidney deficiency causing deterioration and weakness in bones, muscles and tendons, deformed lower limbs due to stroke or poliomyelitis.

THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS:   

Tonify liver and kidney to strengthen bones and tendons, eliminate rheumatism and strengthen body. 

INGREDIENTS: (2 Servings)

  • Quail 鵪鶉 - 3
  • Eucommia (du jung) 杜仲 - 40gm
  • Chinese yam (shan yao) 淮山 - 80gm
  • Goji-berry / Chinese wolf-berry (gou ji zi) 枸杞子 - 20gm
  • Pitted red dates 紅棗 - 6
  • Ginger - 5 slices

1.   Wash quail and cut into halves and put in boiling water for a few minutes, remove and rinse.

2.   Soak herbs for 20 minutes and rinse.

3.   Put all ingredients in a soup pot with adequate water (aboput 10 cups) and bring to a boil. Remove foam, reduce heat and simmer for 3 hours.

4.   Add salt to serve.

USAGE:     

Not suitable when having flu or fever.
