Chinese Yam, Fox Nut and Pigeon Soup

SYMPTOMS:  

Pale yellow complexion, lack of energy and appetite, loose bowel, insomnia and slight swelling of limbs.

THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS: 

Tonify qi and benefit spleen, promote blood and calm the mind, improve energy and appetite.

INGREDIENTS: (4 servings)      

  • Matured pigeon - two
  • Lean pork  - 640gm
  • Chinese yam (shan yao) 淮山 - 60gm
  • Foxnut (qian shi) 芡實 - 30gm
  • Dried longan fruit 龍眼肉- 15gm
  • Ginger - 4 slices

1.  Cut pork into large pieces. Wash pigeons, cut into halves and remove skin and fat. Put pork and pigeon in bowling water to cook for a few minutes, remove and rinse.

2.   Soak yam and foxnut for 30 minutes and rinse. Rinse longan fruit.

3.   Put all ingredients in a soup pot with about 12 cups of water and bring to a boil. Remove foam, reduce heat to simmer for 3 hours with about 4 cups of soup.

4.   Add salt to serve.

USAGE: 

Can be taken regularly.
