Dang Shen and Lamb Leg Soup


Deficiency blood and qi manifested as pale, lack of energy and headache, insomnia and iron deficiency.


Tonify blood and qi, calm the mind, and strengthen body.

INGREDIENTS: (2 to 3 Servings)

  • Lamb back leg (chopped into pieces) - 960gm
  • Dang shen 黨參 - 20gm
  • Dried longan fruit (long yan rou) 龍眼肉 - 40gm
  • Pitted red dates 紅棗 - 5
  • Ginger - 4 slices

1.   Wash lamb a few times and strain. Stir-fry lamb in a skillet or wok with ginger and some cooking wine until slightly brown.

2.   Rinse other ingredients.

3.   Boil about 12 cups of water in a soup pot and put all ingredients in and bring to a boil for 5 to 10 minutes. Remove foam, reduce heat and simmer for 3 hours.

4.   Add salt to serve. Eat some meat with soup.


Not suitable when having flu and excess internal heat.
