Mulberry and Wheat Drink

SYMPTOMS:

Insomnia due to heart-spleen deficiency with symptoms such as poor appetite, abdominal swelling, fatigue, forgetfulness, anxiety, nervousness and night sweats; or heart-kidney yin deficiency with symptoms such as dizziness, depression, forgetfulness, nervousness and stress.

THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS: 

Calm the spirit, tone the spleen, increase yin energy and contributing to good sleep.

INGREDIENTS:     

  • Mulberry seed (sang shen) 桑椹子 - 30gm
  • Glutinous rice 糯米 - 50gm
  • Wheat (fu xiao mai) 浮小麥 - 10gm
  • Brown sugar -  to taste

1.   Cook mulberry in 3 cups of water for 30 minutes to get 1 cup of tea. Strain and set tea aside.

2.   Cook glutinous rice with about 3 cups of water for 20 minutes to about half of the water left. Add wheat, sugar and the mulberry tea to cook for another 10 minutes.

3.   Strain and drink the decoction while warm.

USAGE:     

No restriction. Drink this drink an hour before bedtime. Continue everyday for one week as one course of treatment. Continue with a few courses to see improvement and permanent cure.
