Mutton and Herbs Soup

SYMPTOMS:  

Nephritis or kidney-yang deficiency manifested as weak knees and limbs, anemia, cold extremities, pale and lack of appetite, dizziness, or neuritis.

THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS:

Tonify qi and invigorate yang, warm kidney and benefit liver, promote blood and improve complexion.

INGREDIENTS: (2 to 3 Servings)

  • Mutton - 800gm
  • Dang-gui (head) 當歸頭- 20gm
  • White peony (bai shao) 白芍 - 12gm
  • Astragalus (huang qi) 黃耆- 40gm
  • Processed rehmannia (shu di) 熟地- 40gm
  • Ginger - 3 slices
  • Red dates 紅棗 - 5

1.   Wash mutton, cut into cubes and put in boiling water to boil for a few minutes. Remove and rinse.

2.   Rinse herbs and put all ingredients in a soup pot with adequate water (about 12 cups) and bring to a boil. Remove foam, reduce heat and simmer for 3 hours.

3.   Add salt to serve.

4.   Eat some meat with soup. 

USAGE:  

Not suitable when having flu or weak digestion with loose bowel.
