Lamb Kidney Soup

SYMPTOMS:  

Kidney deficiency manifested as frequent urination, leucorrhagia in women and nocturnal emission in men.

THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS:  

Relieve nocturnal emission and leucorrhagia, reduce the frequency of urination.

INGREDIENTS:     

  • Lamb kidney - 2
  • Ginkgo seed (ying xing) 銀杏/白果 - 20
  • Fox nut (qian shi) (qian shi) 芡實 - 40gm
  • Cherokee rose (jin ying zi) 金櫻子 - 40gm

1.   Wash lamb kidneys with salt for a few times and rinse. Cut kidneys into thin slices and soak with two spoons of cooking wine.

2.   Remove shell and membrane of ginkgo seeds, cut into halves and remove green/white seed in the middle.

3.   Rinse other herbs and put all ingredients in a soup pot with 6 cups of water. Bring to a boil and lower heat to simmer to one cup of soup (about 2 hours).

4.   Drink soup only.

USAGE:  

Not suitable if there is too much internal heat manifested as dry mouth with bitter taste.
