Black Glutinous Rice Congee

Prevent and treat night sweat.


  • Wheat (fu xiao mai) 浮小麥 – 15gm
  • Astragalus (huang qi) 北耆 – 9gm
  • Ophiopogonis Radix (mai men tung) 麥冬 – 9gm
  • Pitted red dates 去心紅棗 – 10
  • Black glutinous rice 黑糯米 – 60gm
  • Honey 蜜糖 – to taste

1.   Rinse herbs and rice and put together with 6 cups of water. Bring to a boil and lower heat to medium and cook to 3 cups of congee.

2.   Add honey to taste. Discard herbs and eat congee and dates only.
