Achyranthes, Deng shen and Bone Soup

SYMPTOMS:  

Sore loin and knees and weakening of legs due to old age or long illness, pain and difficulty in movement of knees, flaccidity of extremities.

THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS:   

Ease joints, strengthen bones and muscles, induce vital energy downward, improve kidney and spleen functions, and improve energy.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Achyranthes (niu xi) 牛膝 - 40gm
  • Deng shen 黨參 - 40gm
  • Beef bone - 2kg (chopped into small pieces)
  • Walnut  - 80gm
  • Pitted red dates 去核紅棗 - 6
  • Ginger - 4 slices

1.   Wash bones and put in boiling water to cook for 5 minutes, remove and rinse.

2.   Put bones and ginger in about 3 to 4 litres of water and cook over medium heat for 3 hours to less than half of the water left.

3.   Remove bones and put all other ingredients in and cook for one more hour to about 2 cups of soup left.

4.   Add salt to serve.

USAGE:  

Take regularly with no restriction.
