Dang-gui Wolf-berry and Lamb Liver Soup

SYMPTOMS:  

Blood and liver deficiency causing dizziness and unclear vision, pale and losing weight, or general weakness after giving birth causing dizziness and clouded vision.

THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS: 

Improve blood and nourish liver, improve vision, benefit spleen and prevent night blindness.

INGREDIENTS: (2 Servings)

  • Lamb liver (or pig liver) - 320gm
  • Lean pork - 160gm
  • Angelica Sinensis (dang gui) 當歸  - 15gm
  • Goji-berry (gou ji zi) 枸杞子 - 9gm
  • Dang shen 黨參 - 15gm
  • Pitted red dates 去核紅棗 – 4
  • Ginger - 4 slices

1.   Wash liver and pork and cut into thin slices.

2.   Rinse herbs and put all ingredients except liver in a soup pot with about 8 cups of water. Bring to a boil, remove foam and reduce heat to simmer for 2 hours to about 3 cups of soup.

3.   Add liver to cook for another 5 minutes and turn off heat. Let it stands for 10 minutes.

4.   Add salt to serve and eat some liver with soup.

USAGE:     

Not suitable when having flu or painful eyes due to wind heat syndrome.
