Dang Shen and Quail Soup

SYMPTOMS:

Weakness especially after giving birth, pale looking, tiredness, dizziness, tinnitus, deteriorated hearing and eyesight of older people.

THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS:

Benefit the vital organs, strengthen spleen and kidney, improve energy and strengthen bones and muscles, improve complexion.

INGREDIENTS: (2 servings)

  • Dang shen 黨參 - 40gm
  • Goji-berry / Chinese wolfberries (gou ji zi) 枸杞子 - 12gm
  • Chinese yam (shan yao) 淮山 - 20gm
  • Quail 鵪鶉 - two

1.   Wash quail, cut into halves, remove neck and tail, and put in boiling water to cook for 2 minutes, remove and rinse.

2.   Soak herbs for 30 minutes, rub and rinse a few times.

3.   Put all ingredients in a soup pot with about 8 cups of water. Bring to a boil, remove foam and reduce heat to simmer for over 2 hours to about 2 cups of soup.

4.   Add salt to taste and serve. Eat quail with soup.

USAGE:

Not suitable while having cold or flu or people with extreme hot constitution.
