Dang Shen Beef Bone Soup


Deteriorating spleen and kidney manifested in lack of energy, sore loins and knees and weak legs, always tired.


Invigorate spleen and kidney, strengthen energy and bones, improve health and body strength.

INGREDIENTS: (3 servings):

  •       Beef bone 牛骨- 2000gm or about 3 lb. (chopped)
  •       Dang shen 黨參- 40gm
  •       Achyranthes (niu xi) 牛膝- 80gm
  •       Walnut 胡桃肉- 80gm
  •       Pitted red dates 紅棗- 3
  •       Ginger 生薑- 4 slices
  1. Wash bones, put in boiling water for 5 minutes, remove and rinse.
  2. Put bones in a stockpot with about 12 cups of water (about 3 liters). Bring to boil and cook over medium heat for 2 hours to reduce water to half (add boiling water to the cooking if necessary). 
  3. Strain and return soup to pot. Bring to boil and add herbs and all other ingredients. Reduce heat to medium low and let it simmer for about an hour to reduce broth to half. 
  4. Add salt to serve. Take one cup of soup a day for three days. 


Not suitable when having damp heat syndrome (loose stool).
