Shanghai Cabbage & Tofu Soup


Excessive internal heat with mouth sores, dry throat, scanty urine or disturbed sleep.


Lower internal heat and promote vital fluid.


  • Soft Tofu 水豆腐 – one piece
  • Sour cabbage 潮州鹹菜 – 120gm
  • Shanghai cabbage 黃芽白 – 180gm  
  • Chinese celery 中芹 – one plant
  • Minced garlic – one spoon
  • Minced ginger – half spoon

1.   Cut sour cabbage into thin slices and rinse a few times to take out the salt.

2.   Wash and cut Shanghai cabbage and celery into sections. Cut tofu into large cubes.

3.   Warm two spoon of oil in a pan and add garlic and ginger to stir for a couple of minutes. Bring heat up and add shanghai cabbage to stir-fry until they withered a bit. Add sour cabbage and half cup of water to cook for 10 minutes. Add celery and tofu and cook for 5 more minutes. Add seasoning (salt, sugar, pepper, sesame oil) to serve.
