Natural and herbal remedy recipes for promoting beauty from within

Beauty Recipes

In Chinese medicine, beauty is a reflection of how well the body is being nourished. Beauty can only be achieved if you have radiant health and your body has achieved a good balance. Your hair, skin, face, nail and eyes all project the wellness of your internal systems. Problems associated with these systems are very difficult to hide.

Hair and skin are a good reflection of whether you have good qi and blood circulation. Your lungs are responsible for providing enough oxygen to the blood stream. The blood circulating the body sustains the vital activities and nourishes the tissues and organs. Poor circulation hinders the functions and health of the organs. Dull skin and hair are signs of weaken lungs and poor blood circulation.

If your blood is getting too hot due to too much deep-fried or grilled food, you will have skin eruptions such as acne. If you are under-nourished, your skin and nails will be pale. If you have digestive problems, your lips will be dry and you will have skin problems and bad breath. If your liver is not functioning properly, you will have milky and yellowish eyes. If your kidneys are weak, you will have weak bones and bad teeth. If you have emotional problems, your sleep may be affected. Sleep is vital for the body to regenerate and rejuvenate. Without proper sleep, your body will degrade and age much faster and no miracle food or drug can bring the beauty back.

"Eating is not as important as elimination, and elimination is not as important as sleeping," is an old Chinese saying. The easy passing of waste from the body is believed to be more important than eating well. This is why Chinese food is very high in fiber. Leafy green vegetables, roots and soup are regularly used to promote the downward movement and easy passing of foods. Iron in meat stimulates hair turnover and replenishment. Beef is also rich in zinc, which helps guard against hair loss. If you can develop good habits for sleeping, eliminating and eating, you will have good health and radiant look.

Beauty tonics are health tonics that are not just designed to treat the surface organs, but to nourish your internal organs as well. Ingredients with detoxification effects are also used to fight free radicals and toxins present in some super foods. Garlic, ginger, green onion, vinegar, black bean paste, sesame oil, wine, etc. all have antioxidant properties and are always used in the preparation of meat and seafood.

Chinese Tea

Chinese tea is excellent in cleaning out fat in the digestive tract and is the preferred drink after meals. Black tea is chock-full of astringent compounds called tannins that can help deflate and tighten the bags under your eyes. Activate the tannins in two tea bags by dipping it in a cup of hot water for several minutes. Then, cool the tea bags in the fridge and apply the damp bags as compresses to closed eyes for 10 minutes to revive puffy and tired eyes.

Spinach contains the pigment lutein, present in the retina, which helps maintain the health of the eye.

Tomatoes contain the anti-oxidant lycopene, which can protect the skin from UV damage from the sun.

Purple or red berries - such as blueberries, raspberries and strawberries - are full of anthocyanins which can help protect against diabetes, heart disease and cancer, and help maintain strong arteries.

Oily Fish

Oily fish, such as fresh water salmon, herring, mackerel and sardines, and also flax seeds and linseed, are the main source of omega-3 fatty acids, which can delay the aging process of the skin.

Water: drinking more aids digestion and elimination; drinking too little can harm the complexion.

Carbonated Drinks

Carbonated drinks - along with tea, coffee, sugar, red meat and alcohol - can push the body's balance towards the acidic, meaning that alkaline minerals (such as calcium) are removed from bone stores to balance it, weakening the bones. Restricting them may help you keep stronger bones.

Nightshade Vegetables

Nightshade vegetables - potatoes, chillies, aubergine and peppers - while often healthy in other respects, contain a che mic al that studies suggest can activate pain and inflammation associated with arthritis. Avoiding these foods may help reduce it.

Refined Carbohydrates

Refined carbohydrates - such as white bread, white rice, sugary cereals, pasta and noodles - contribute to the development of type II diabetes, which accelerates the aging process and, if not controlled, can lead to a wide range of other health problems.

Cleansing your body from the inside out isn't all about what you can't have. Eat more alkaline-forming foods, such as parsley, almonds, kale, pears, lemons, and apples. If your body is too acidic, which can happen when your diet is unbalanced, it leaches the alkaline minerals, such as calcium, potassium, and magnesium that allow us to have strong, healthy bones, teeth, and hair.
