Beef Hock and Walnut Soup


Yin deficiency leading to pale yellowish and dry skin, dull complexion, dry mouth and dry cough, hard stool.


Tonify yin and promote blood, moisturize skin and improve complexion, lower blood pressure and blood sugar, promote vital fluid, soothe lungs.


  • Beef hock 牛展 - 600gm
  • Solomon seal (yu ju) 玉竹 - 80gm
  • Walnut - 8gm
  • Ginger - 2 slices

 1.   Wash beef, cut into big pieces and put into boiling water for a few minutes. Retrieve and rinse.

2.   Rinse herbs and walnuts.

3.   Put all ingredients in a soup pot with about 8 cups of water. Bring to boil, remove foam, reduce heat to medium low and let it simmer for 2.5  to 3 hours down to about 2 cups of water left. Add boiling water to the cooking if necessary. 

4.   Add salt to servce. Eat beef with soup.


Not suitable when having cold or flu.
