Quail Soup


Sore loin and legs and lack of energy.


Invigorate liver and kidney, strengthen tendons and bones, and increase body energy.


  • Quail 鵪鶉 - two
  • Goji-berry/Chinese wolfberry (gou ji zi) 枸杞子 - 30gm
  • Eucommia (du jung)  杜仲 - 12gm

1.  Wash quail and cut into halves. Remove neck and tail and put in boiling water to cook for a couple of minutes, remove and rinse.

2.   Soak goji-berries for at least 20 minutes and rinse clean. Rinse du jung.

3.   Put all ingredients in a soup pot with about 4 cups of water. Bring to boil, remove foam and reduce heat to simmer for over an hour to about half of the water left.

4.   Add salt to serve and eat quail with soup.
