Dried Scallop and Chicken Soup


Lack of energy due to overwork and mental exhaustion or after sickness, pale and tired, lack of appetite and under weight.


Tonify yin and promote blood, strengthen spleen and increase energy, nourish heart and tranquilize the mind.


  • Chicken - one whole
  • Dried scallop 乾瑤柱 - 32gm
  • Pitted red dates 紅棗 - 10
  • Lotus seeds 蓮子 - 80gm
  • Ginger - 3 slices

1.   Wash chicken, remove skin, neck, tail and obvious fats. Cut into large pieces, rinse clean and drain.

2.   Rinse lotus seeds, dates and dried scallop.

3.   Heat two spoons of oil in a saucepan or a wok. Put in ginger to stir-fry for a minute. Add chicken and stir-fry to cook the outside slightly.  

4.   Boil 3 liters of water in a soup pot and put chicken and all other ingredients in. When boil again, remove foam and oil and reduce heat to simmer for 3 hours.

5.   Add salt to serve. Eat some content with soup. 


Not suitable for stomach heat and dampness syndrome with loose bowel.
