Chinese Pear and Quail Soup 


Dry mouth and throat or nose bleed due to dry weather, or smoking too much, or lack of sleep resulting in sore throat and coarse voice and coughing with yellow phlegm.


Expel heat and moisturize respiratory tract, stop coughing and soothe throat.


  •       Chinese pear 雪梨- Two
  •       Quail 鵪鶉- 4
  •       Snow-ear mushroom 雪耳- 20gm
  •       Lean pork 瘦肉- 120gm
  •       Honey dates  蜜棗- 4
  1. Soak mushroom for about 20 minutes or until soft and rinse.
  2. Wash quails and cut into quarters. Rinse pork and cut into big pieces. Rinse dates.
  3. Boil adequate water in a pot (about 3 liters). Skin and cut each pear into 4 pieces, remove core and put into the water.
  4. Put other ingredients in (except mushroom) and bring to a boil. Remove foam, reduce heat and simmer for about 1.5 hours.
  5. Add mushroom and simmer for another 30 minutes with about 3 cups of water left (add boiling water to the cooking whenever necessary).
  6. Add salt to serve. Eat content with soup.


Suitable for the whole family for prevention and cure. Not suitable for cold cough syndrome with clear phlegm.
