Watercress and Fish Soup


General dryness symptoms of dry mouth and throat.


Moisturize and promote vital fluids.


  • Watercress 西洋菜 - 640gm
  • Carp  鯽魚 - one (320gm)
  • Lean pork hock 豬展 - 160gm
  • Honey date 蜜棗- 2
  • Southern apricot kernel 南杏仁 - 40gm
  • Northern apricot kernel 北杏仁 - 8gm
  • Citrus peel (chen-pi) 陳皮 - one piece (pre-soaked and with white tissue removed)     
  • Ginger - 2 slices

1.   Rinse pork, cut into large piece and put in boiling water to cook for a few minutes. Retrieve and rinse.    

2.   Rinse watercress a few times. Bring 3 litres of water in a soup pot to boil and put in watercress and pork to cook over high heat.

3.   Rinse all other ingredients except fish and add to the cooking.

4.   Wash fish with salt and rinse clean. Put fish inside a fish bag and add to the cooking to prevent fish bones from mixing with watercress after cooking. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 2 hours.

5.  Add salt to serve. Eat content with soup.   


No restriction. Suitable for the whole family.
