Deng Shen Mutton Soup


General weakness, cold extremities and lack of energy.


Promote qi, strengthen body and immune system, improve energy and appetite.

INGREDIENTS: (2 servings)

  • Deng shen 黨參 - 40gm
  • Dried longan fruit 龍眼肉- 40gm
  • Mutton 羊肉 - 640gm or 1.5 lbs
  • Pitted red dates 紅棗- 4
  • Ginger - 4 slices

1.   Wash mutton and cut into pieces (2" cubes). Put in boiling water to cook for a few minutes, remove and rinse.

2.   Soak red dates for about 10 minutes and rinse. Rinse other herbs.

3.   Put all ingredients in a soup pot with about 3 litres of water and bring to a boil. Remove foam, reduce heat to simmer for 3 hours to about 3 cups of soup.

4.   Add seasoning to serve. Eat meat with soup for dinner.


Not suitable when having cold or flu. A winter tonic suitable for all ages.
