Chestnut and Pork Hock Soup


Loose bowel, lack of energy and appetite, weaken spleen functions.


Improve energy and spleen functions, hold diarrhea, and strengthen kidney and the whole body.


  • Chestnut 粟子 - 160gm
  • Boneless pig hock 豬展 - 640gm
  • Chinese yam (shan yao) 淮山 - 80gm
  • Citrus peel - one piece(chen-pi) 陳皮 (pre-soaked and with white tissue removed)

1.   Remove shell and membrane of chestnuts.

2.   Rinse pork and cut into a few big pieces. Put in boiling water for a few minutes, remove and rinse.

3.   Rinse other ingredients. Put everything in a pot with adequate water (about 10 cups) and bring to a boil. Remove foam, reduce heat and simmer for 3 hours to 2 or 3 cups of soup.

4.   Add salt to serve and eat some content with soup.


Not suitable when having flu and fever.
