American Ginseng Chicken Soup


General weakness, lack of energy, dry mouth and dry throat, always thirsty, lack of appetite, profuse perspiration.


Tonic for qi, promote generation of vital fluids, and strengthen spleen and lungs.


  • American ginseng slice 花旗參 - 15gm
  • Fresh chicken thigh - two pieces

1.     Wash chicken thigh and remove skin and fat. Put in boiling water to cook for a few minutes, remove and rinse.

2.     Put ginseng and chicken in a pot with about 6 cups of water. Bring water to boil, remove foam and reduce heat to simmer for one and half hours to about one cup of soup.

3.     Do not add any seasoning. Take soup and eat chicken an hour before dinner.


Recommend once every five days for at least a month. 



  • one whole chicken
  • American ginseng 20gm
  • Chinese wolfberry 20gm
  • Chinese yam 30gm
  • Red dates - 6,
  • Dried scallop - 3,
  • Ginger -3 slices.

1.   Wash chicken, remove skin and fat and cut into 4 pieces. Put chicken in boiling water to cook for 5 minutes. Remove and rinse,

 2.   Rinse herbs and put all ingredients in a  soup pot with about 3 liters of water. Bring to boil, remove foam and reduce heat to simmer for 3 hours. Add a little salt to serve.


 Suitable for once or twice a month, especially in colder months.
