Black Bean, Goji-berry and Beef Bone Marrow Soup


Dizziness and unclear vision, no appetite, sore loin and knees, forgetfulness and lack of energy.


Tonify blood and strengthen liver, benefit kidney and promote essence, increase memory and calm the mind, strengthen the body.


  • Goji-berry / Chinese wolf-berry (gou ji zi) 枸杞子- 40gm
  • Black bean - 120gm
  • Beef bone marrow 牛骨髓 - 320gm
  • Ginger - 2 slices
  • Pitted red dates 紅棗 - 4

1.   Retrieve bone marrow from bone and rinse. Put in boiling water to boil for 5 minutes, remove and and rinse.

2.   Pan-fry black bean without oil over low heat until roasted and skins flaked off. Remove and rinse.

3.   Soak goji-berry for 20 mintes and rinse. Rinse other ingredients.

4.   Put all ingredients in a pot with 6 to 8 cups of water and bring to a boil. Remove foam and reduce heat to  simmer for 3 hours to 2 cups of soup.

5.  Add a little salt to serve.


Eat with meal.
