Dried Fish Maw, Chayote and Pork Soup

SYMPTOMS:

Low red blood cells, chronic problems, cold hands and feet in winter, wrinkled skin, tired looking.

THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS:

Tonic for blood, improve immune system, and increase energy.

INGREDIENTS: (2 to 3 servings)

  • Dried fish maw  花膠 - 150gm
  • Lean pork - 300gm
  • Chayote 合掌瓜 - one
  • Red dates 紅棗 - 4
  • Dried longan fruit  龍眼肉 - 12gm
  • Goji-berry / Chinese wolfberry (gou ji zi) 枸杞子  - 12gm

1.   Soak fish maws with warm water until soft (or soak overnight), rinse and cut into bite size pieces..

2.   Wash pork and cut into pieces.

3.   Put pork and fish maw in boiling water to cook for 5 minutes, retrieve and rinse.

4.   Wash and cut chayote into halves, remove core and cut into pieces.

5.   Rinse other ingredients and put all in a soup pot with about 3 litres if water. Bring to a boil, remove foam and reduce heat to simmer for 3 hours to about 3 cups of soup left.

6.   Add salt to serve and eat content with soup.

USAGE:

No restriction. Finish by two servings in the same day.
