Ginseng Carp Fish Soup


General weakness especially heart and lung, shortness of breathe, gasping, lack of appetite, dizziness, bloating.


Tonify blood and qi, strengthen spleen and heart and improve energy.


  • Korean red ginseng 人參 - 12gm
  • Astragalus (huang qi) 黃耆 - 20gm
  • Carp fish 鯽魚 - one
  • Lean pork - 240gm
  • Red dates  紅棗- 4
  • Ginger - 2 slices

1.   Wash fish with salt and rinse thoroughly and put aside in the fridge.

2.   Rinse pork and cut into big pieces and put in boiling water to cook for a few minutes, retrieve and rinse..

3.   Rinse herbs and put together with pork in a soup pot with about 2 litres of water and bring to a boil. Remove foam and reduce heat to simmer for 2 hours.

4.   Pan-fry fish with ginger to brown slightly on both sides. Sprinkle in cooking wine and half cup of hot water and let it cook for a few minutes. Then transfer fish into the soup pot and continue to cook for another hour.

5.   Add salt to serve and drink soup only.
