Little Red Bean and Winter Melon Congee


Water retention with swollen ankles.


Diuretic and reduce water accumulation.


  • Little red bean 赤小豆- 80gm
  • Winter melon 冬瓜 -320gm
  • Rice - 80gm

1.   Skin and remove seeds of winter melon, wash and cut into small cubes.

2.   Rinse other ingredients and put all in a pot with adequate water. Bring to a quick boil and reduce heat to medium and cook for about 45 minutes to become a thick congee. Half cover lid during cooking to prevent spilling.

3.   Serve without adding any salt.


Eat with meal. Can use job's tear instead of little red bean for similar effect.
