Papaya & Pork Soup




Lubricate skin and digestive system, speed up passing of waste and brighten up skin complexion.


  • Papaya – half
  • Job’s Tears (yi yi ren) 薏以仁 – one handful
  • Chinese yam (shan yao) 淮山 – 6 pieces
  • Solomon Seal (yu ju) 玉竹 – 60gm
  • Lean pork - 240gm
  • Jujube /Red dates大棗 - 3
  • Mandarin orange peel (chen-pi) 陳皮 – one piece (pre-soaked and with white tissue removed)
  • Ginger – 3 slices

1.   Soak herbs for 30 minutes and rinse.

2.   Cut pork into smaller pieces and cook in boiling water for a minutes, retrieve and rinse.

3.   Dice papaya into cubes and put aside.

4.   Put all other ingredients in a soup pot with about 3 litres of water. Bring to a boil, remove foam and reduce heat to simmer for 2 hours. Add papaya to cook for another 15 minutes.

5.   Add little salt to serve.
