Pigeon and Cordyceps Soup (1725)

Pigeon and Cordyceps Soup


All symptoms of kidney and lung deficiency such as dyspnea, shortness of breath, cough, impotence, soreness of loin and knees, dizziness and tinnitus.


Invigorate kidney and supplement essence, invigorate the lungs and improve respiration, benefit blood and qi circulation.


  • Pigeon - one
  • Dried fish maw  花膠- 20gm
  • Cordyceps (dong chong xia cao) 冬虫夏草 - 12gm
  • Ginger - 2 slices
  • Wine - one spoon

1.   Pre-soak dried fish maw overnight and cut into small pieces.

2.   Wash pigeon, cut into halves, remove skin and fat.

3.   Put pigeion and fish maw in boiling water to boil for 5 minutes, retrieve and rinse.

4.   Put all ingredients in a casserole with hot water covering all ingredients. Put on lid and use double boiling method to cook for 3 hours. 

5.   Add seasoning to serve.


No restriction.


Bring the soup to boil in a pot for about 10 minutes and transfer the cooking to a slow cooker and cook for 4 hours on high heat.
