Winter Melon, Lotus Seed and Fish Congee


High blood pressure.


Lower blood pressure, clear internal heat and benefit the heart. Promote general health and longevity.


  • Winter melon 冬瓜 – 180gm
  • Lotus seeds 蓮子 – half cup
  • Fish - one
  • Rice - half cup
  • Chinese celery 唐芹菜 (finely chopped) – half cup

1.   Soak lotus seeds for a few hours.

2.   Remove skin of winter melon and use a peeler to peel the melon into thin pieces.

3.   Cook lotus seeds in 5 to 6 cups water until soft and add rice.

4.   Add the whole fish to the cooking. When the fish is cooked, take it out and take out the meat and set aside.

5.   Add shredded winter melon to the cooking. When cooked and become very soft, add seasoning, fish, chopped Chinese celery and serve.


No restriction.

Alternative Method

Use fish fillet instead of the whole fish for easy cooking.
