Wolf-berry, Black Beans and Carp Soup


Cold hands and feet, pale looking and lack of energy.


Strengthen kidney yang, tonify blood and liver, and improve overall energy. 


  • Goji-berry / Chinese Wolf-berries (gou ji zi) 枸杞子 - 40gm
  • Black beans - 80gm
  • Carp - one (about 600 gm)
  • Ginger - 1 slice
  • Pitted red dates 紅棗 - 8

1.   Stir-fry black beans in frying pan over low heat with no oil until beans are roasted and skin burst open. Remove, wash and drain.

2.   Wash fish with salt, rinse, pat dry and pan-fry with one spoon of oil and ginger until both sides are slightly brown.

3.   Rinse other ingredients.

4.   Cook adequate water in a pot (about 2.5 liters). Put everything in and simmer for 3 hours until about 1.5 cups of soup left.

5.   Add seasoning to serve. Eat fish and beans with soup.


Not suitable for people with skin problems or hemorrhoids.
