Amaranth Mung Bean Pork Soup


Internal heat syndrome with bad breath and acne.


Clear internal heat, detoxify and anti-inflammatory.


  • Mung bean 綠豆 – a handful
  • Amaranth root 莧菜頭 – 300 gm
  • Salted pork – 120gm

1.   Rinse pork and season it with 3 spoons of salt and keep in the fridge overnight.

2.   Rinse off salt from pork and cut into slices.

3.   Rinse amaranth a few times and cut into sections.

4.   Rinse mung bean and put together with pork and 4 to 5 cups of water. Bring to a boil and lower heat to medium and cook for 20 minutes.

5.   Add amaranth and cook for another 10 minutes. Add salt to taste and serve.
