White Peony & Fish Soup

SYMPTOMS: 

Blood deficiency, general weakness, hardening of liver, headache, dizziness, insomnia, chest pain and stomach pain due to abnormal liver yang energy.

THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS:

Soothe liver, calm liver yang, soften liver tissue, relieve pain, and improve liver functions.

INGREDIENTS:

  • White peony 白芍 - 10gm
  • Fish meat ( carp or any fish) - 200gm
  • Ginger - 3 slices
  • Green onion - 2
  • Bamboo shoot  冬筍 - 40gm
  • Tomato - one
  • Egg - one
  • Cooking wine

1.   Wash and cut fish into smaller pieces. Dice tomato. Finely shred bamboo shoot, green onion and ginger.
2.   Season fish with salt, pepper, cooking wine, cornstarch and mix in half of the egg white to coat the surface.
3.   Boil 2 cups of water in a pan and put in white peony to cook for 5 minutes.
4.   Add bamboo shoot, tomato and ginger and let boil for about 10 minutes.
5.   Add fish and seasoning to the soup.
6.   When boil again, add geen onion, the rest of the egg white and cornstarch water to thicken the soup to serve.
