Job’s Tears Pork Bone Congee


Always tired or with loose bowel due to excessive dampness in the body.


Get rid of excessive dampness in the body during summer months due to high humidity and lots of rain, or due to drinking too much cold beverages such as bear.

INGREDIENTS: (4 servings)

  • Indian Bread (fu ling) 雲苓 – 30gm  
  • White Atractylodes (bai zhu) 白朮 – 30gm
  • Job's Tears  (yi yi ren) 薏米 – 30gm
  • Broad bean 扁豆 – 60gm
  • Pork ribs 唐排 - 360gm (washed and seasoned with salt overnight)
  • Jasmine Rice 香米 – 180gm

1.   Rinse ribs and put in boiling water to cook for a few minutes, remove and rinse.

2.   Rinse rice and soak it with one spoon of oil and one spoon of salt for 15 minutes and rinse.

3.   Rinse all other ingredients with hot water.

4.   Put all ingredients in a pot and put in double the amount of water in and bring to quick boil for 15 minutes. Lower heat to medium boil and cook until ribs are tender (add boiling water to the cooking if necessary).

5.   Add seasoning to serve (salt & pepper). Eat ribs with congee.
