Oyster Shell Chicken Soup


Profuse perspiration, general weakness, dizziness, tinnitus, irritability, and insomnia.


Calm liver and benefit yin, disperse stagnant mass, invigorate kidney to preserve essence, control profuse perspiration.


  • Chicken - one (400gm)
  • Joint fir  (ma huang) 麻黃 - 12gm
  • Broomrape  (rou cong rong) 肉蓯蓉 - 20gm
  • Oyster shell  (mu li) 牡蠣 - 40gm

1.     Wash chicken, cut into halves, remove skin and fat and put in boiling water to rinse for a couple of minutes, retrieve and drain.

2.     Rinse herbs and put all ingredients in a pot with adequate water (about 3 liters) and bring to a boil.

3.     Remove foam, reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours with about 2 cups of water left.

4.     Add salt to taste. Drink soup and eat some meat.
