Dong Qui Mutton Soup





A female tonic for nourishing blood and qi, regulating proper menstrual cycle and hormone balance. Also a good tonic for post-partum care and recovery and is best to be taken within the first month after delivery.

INGREDIENTS: (2 servings)

  • Mutton – 300gm
  • Ginger – 3 slices
  • Angelica Sinensis (dang gui) 當歸 – 15gm

1.   Wash mutton and cut into pieces. Put mutton in boiling water to boil for about 5 minutes, remove and rinse.

2.   Put all ingredients in a soup pot with about 2 liters of water. Bring to a boil, remove foam and reduce heat to simmer for 3 hours.

3.   Add salt to serve. Eat some meat with soup.


Avoid eating pumpkin on the same day and should not be taken while having any kind of sickness. Recommended to take once a month, a few days after menstruation but should stop in the summer months.
