Dong Qui, Longan Fruit and Chicken Soup



Blood deficiency manifested into underweight, dull complexion, dry skin, insomnia and dizziness.


Promote blood, improve circulation, invigorates heart and spleen, improve sleep.


  • Chicken breast – one
  • Angelica Sinensis (dang gui) 當歸 – 15gm  
  • Longan Fruit (long yan rou) 龍眼肉 – 10 to12

1.   Wash chicken, remove skin and obvious fat and cut into large pieces. Put chicken in boiling water to boil for 2-3 minutes. Remove and rinse.

2.   Rinse herbs.

3.   Put all ingredients in a soup pot with about 6 cups of water. Bring to a boil, remove foam and reduce heat to simmer for 2 hours to about 1.5 cups of soup (add boiling water to the cooking if necessary).

4.   Add salt to serve and eat some meat with soup.  


To be taken once or twice a month until symptoms have improved. It should not be taken when having cold, flu or fever.
